I need to finish my Eminence 6.5x2 Samsonite suitcase speaker, and maybe another type during the winter, and realized I do not have female spade connectors on hand.

Are they of a standard size, or does that vary?
    1/4 inch?

    Where do you buy yours?
A hurried look at H-D showed only insulated expensive ones in super-mini packs... but again, I will need a dozen at most.

I've chased those down all my life, seems like. I hope someone can answer this question and provide a good source for these. Harbor Freight has some cheap assortments that may include some spade lugs that will work, and I've looked at auto parts stores before, but all in all I just have to scrounge 'em anywhere I can.

The only standard is there is no standard. As @Manodano said "Harbor Freight has some cheap assortments"
Or you could just solder to them.

Ami, there are different widths & thicknesses of speaker spade terminals.
Save yourself a lot of grief and buy an assortment. :)
    (assortments are cheap)

This is one case of why I miss the Radio Shack of old. It was so much easier to just run down the street and find any connectors you might need.
