Saw this listed on rondo last night and bought it https://www.rondomusic.com/product10138.html Never seen this sst ft model before now and did search around for the model not to find much at all about it.
Is this a maple top? description doesnt say and makes me wonder if its maple top or photo top
Ive never seen a rondo strat with binding for sale till this one is this a really old stock guitar? SampleRGstyleHSBFhss1.jpg SampleRGstyleHSBFhss4.jpg

I've never seen that model SX on Rondo before but I've only been following Rondo since about 2000.:)
The Rondo ad says it is a licensed Floyd, not that that means anything.

That's not an SX. That's not a licensed Floyd either.

yeah its not a floyd rose lol. looks like he copied an older sx description and threw it on this guitar. I liked the binding and the color so i bought it . Will see when it gets here if its a phototop or not. I was pretty sure it wasnt a sx headstock on it so maybe its some older model he sold years ago?

Suppose it might be a prototype they decided not to go with?
Wasn't there a Douglas similar to that?

I sent kurt message asking what brand it was but no reply yet maybe ill get an answer tomorow. maybe a haiden or sx or off rondo brand guitar, weird to me he put last of the sst's in the description. who knows all i know is im a sucker for binding on any guitar model. I already have a black p90 loaded pickguard made up that can go in it but may go white if i dont like the black but black and orange seem like there made to go together

As soon as I saw that I hit add to cart and it was gone. Just glad it went to a forum member so it can be reviewed and posted here.

Got a reply from kurt "It was a pre-production sample from a factory we were considering but ultimately did not use for the Hadean or Douglas brands" must be an old model if it was a runner up to hadean and douglas i just hope the build is decent enough.

Unrelated to this guitar, but yeah. There were some non-locking and single-locking trems on super super early Kramers like 1982. Some even had fine tuners I think, but the whole design was still closer to a Fender than to what we think of as a Floyd today.

I tried to purchase it the other day as well and it was already snagged. Wonder why its still on the website if its sold. I just wanted it for that bound body, sweet!

Kurt can be a little slow updating the website listings. A new Items email went out last week with another "one of" (can't recall what it was) that was long gone...

well fedex screwed me the guitar got here with a neck split open like a snapped twig, ive never seen a neck break like this in the mail ever. There is a small tire print on it so i ll assume a forklift or something ran it over.
it looked like a really nice guitar before dam fedex got a hold of it, its usually ups that throws boxes down a hill not fedex. this is the 1st beat up box ive ever got from fedex and 1st broke neck ive ever seen in shipping ever. 20190523_163003.jpg

Jaysus, that is a f'n shame. Considering the price of the guitar and the hassle of filing a claim, I wonder if Kurt might have a compatible neck that he could send you or credit you back enough to cover the cost of a replacement? I know you weren't looking for a project but if the body is worth keeping, that might be another option instead of a straight return and refund...

yeah i would have thought ups delivered it . ive never seen that kinda damage on anything but a bass cabinet that was cracked up from ups. the body looked fine other than dent on horn edge so another neck would fix it easily if its not some wierdo size pocket. ill ask him about that now thanks

I'm pretty sure an SX neck will fit which I'd be surprised if he didn't have a few laying around. I've got both brands so I'll measure a couple a bit later...
