I wonder if they'll work well in the Tropics ?

Speaker size listed in inches; amp dimensions in mm. WTF?

"Any electrical items in your order may have been designed to work with a 240V circuit, using a United Kingdom G type plug connection."

    How "characterful..."

Ok nevermind this junk then. I searched here before posting.... a too good to be true brand, + the shipping adds up. Looked at the guitars breifly, nothing exciting there.
    Monoprice still king for now.

I've been waiting on a deal for one of the 5W Monoprice amps. I noticed today that shipping jumped from just under $15 to $24 to my zip code. I guess I should have ordered the last time they were $89.99+shipping. I was hoping to get one for under $100 shipped.

I bought the 15W a few years ago now, for like 130 shipped. The first version. Now that’s a deal. This thing still screams. I did replace the tubes with JJ’s and put in the MOD reverb tank. It’s a mighty fine amp.

I understand that I can convert it. Just saying if I'm interested that these dimensions are gibberish to me.
    • Dimensions: W 340mm x H 290mm x D 185mm
Would be the same if a guitar scale length was listed as 635mm. If you want to sell something you should try to make it easy for the person buying it is all.

This seems to be a vendor who sells globally and currently there are only 3 countries to my knowledge that still use the 'Imperial' system. All the rest are OK with milimeters, centimeters, meters and kilometers. I often estimate the conversion in my head now as where I live currently everything is metric and just to get perspective I sometimes put it into inches, feet, and miles. But for Americans, Burmese , and Liberians I guess it's a pain

Yes, but probably a disproportionate amount of the sales come from the U.S. Congress passed the Metric Conversion Act in 1975, but we've been a little slow on the uptake. About the biggest thing done was painting distance from home plate in meters under distance in feet on ballpark walls.

I can't even get a handle on understanding the temperature when hearing it in Celsius. Doubling it and adding 15 only gets you so far!

Well here the temp never varies too much...so I know 'ranges' and that's all I need. for example I know 32 is about 90F then 35 is 95...etc etc.

    T(°F) = T(°C) × 9/5 + 32
    T(°C) = (T(°F) - 32) × 5/9

one of the few things I remember from 20 years working in weather.

The metric system makes more sense to me, I'm just used to imperial .

Large soda bottles are in litres too... Smaller bottles/cans are still in ounces, though. Wine bottles are typically 750ml... But I think that's an industry thing.
