Could it make sense that Rondo is using old pictures here, because current SX web page shows a GT with block inlays and transparent stained back rather than painted gold?

The listing says solid hog. Or are you thinking it's another case of bad copy and that these generally have maple caps?

I know a lot of folks are on the Firefly bandwagon lately ,and seems there's always someone with an ultra- cheap alternative. But is there any question that with SX/Hadean/Douglas that Kurt is still probably one of the kings of cheap guitars? Yes his website and photos suck, always have. And his communications are not the greatest. And the specs are mostly just suggestions. But honestly you would be hard pressed to find someone who has sold pretty good quality guitars for a low price for longer or better than he has.

LMAO, that is the funniest thing about Rondo I've read in a while. It's so true, it's kinda scary. That said, I've had 100% great success with Kurt. He's always been fair and very easy to work with when I've received a flawed guitar from Rondo in the past. And Scott, he is a man of few words....LOLOL. You nailed it.

Its amazing what you can get nowadays for a just $200. That looks to be every bit professional quality and is finished beautifully. I would have loved to have a guitar like that when I first was learning to play. We are definitely in the golden age of guitar manufacturing.

Yes, I was thinking another case of bad copy. His present CUS werent listed with 1/2 maple cap until well after folks here at AGF started posting about the surprise cap. The STD+ he never labelled with cap, although, so far, they all have them.(havent verified all STD+ colors as having 1/2" cap..but 3 colors, yes)

Then, some months ago, none of the LP copies were listed on the SX site as having maple caps. Now, some of them do say "maple cap" vs "maple veneer". Their GT is one listed as maple cap...but it has block inlays and a transparent red back and neck stain.

We'll see. May have to email kurt this evening.

I've been waiting for nearly 20 years for a lefty Callisto Cus AMBER. They used to stock them regularly in backwards and it was the prettiest
Les Paul style guitar I've ever seen, but Rondo never got any leftys. All they ever stocked lefty was those butt fugly black things.
Can you tell that I do not buy black guitars? :(

Say it ain't so! I never figured you to be one who'd discriminate based on color.

I'm an equal opportunity buyer myself... long as the price is right! (y) Then again, now that I think about it, I don't have any green guitars. Hmmmm.

That was the exact model I was trying to get Kurt to get back 3-4 yrs ago! Godamnit Kert!

I'd be surprised if it had the same headstock/fb inlay. He might just be using the old images. My guess is they'll look more like the current model Callisto CUS.

If he's making these again I might cave. That was the color I wanted.

I copied a picture and could then see the date on these stock photos as being Dec. 2011, according to my computer, I think.

The current SX web page photos of the Callisto GT (EH3 GD).

I can feel them getting closer in their tanker cargo bin.

What is the main difference between the STD and CUS? I see more binding, different plastics and different inlays. Is it all cosmetic?

type of body wood, maple cap, ????

I think the main difference is that they have different errors in their descriptions.

I'm not sure (I've slept since then) but I think the CUS are bound front & back, the STD front only.
The STD "may" have a bolt on neck.
I know some of the Callistos had bolt on necks, but can't remember the exact model.
Also, the STD & CUS had different finishes.

If that's what the new ones look like I'm gonna pass. The all gold is what I was after & I didn't think he was using whatever manufacturer anymore.

I was under the impression a pre-sale was they weren't made yet.

I think they're already made but in transit. At least that's how it worked with the Agile preorders...
