well I thought I was good but that std gonna have to get a fret level, 3rd fret so buzze the guitar is totally unplayable, few other frets are high but not like that 3rd lol its like 1st act bullshit but i know you get what you pay for.
yes its a 200.00 guitar shipped but still pretty dam buzzy lol. I know kurt its a sx its expected to have a fret level at this price point.

the cus frets are good and strait and wont need anything but upgrades later

G-Damn! That STD looks so beautiful. (Never lusted for an STD before.)

Just bought the STD+DS. I'll likely get it in 2 days and make a post here about it.
Dont need it. But it looks so nice in your pics artandsoul.
Thanks for taking measurements and pics. I am hoping I get one similarly spec'd.
43mm nut, light weight, and a sweet looking veneer top.

I will be able to do fret level if needed. I have all the tools and did one very successful level on my b-stock 89$ Taurus-2 tele a few years back. It plays very smoothly with low action now.

If the STD is a keeper, I'll get rid of something else. Otherwise, I at least get to inspect it, and sell it on consignment at a local store.

I look forward to dropping set of Pearly Gates with roughcast A2 swapped into bridge.

Too bad about the fret but I love that flame top. The redwash back? Not so much again but overall a bargain especially if you can do the fretwork. But I know what you mean still disappointing.

I understand your gripe. I think we can all agree that it's a prerogative of the seller/buyer to agree to an exchange for a product of a certain spec level (binding, finish, woods; as well as nut, pups, pots, etc...the easily interchangeable parts).

But nobody wants a brand new guitar with a flawed neck or fret job.

My AL-2500s are all full body thickness (just under 2"), all the SX LP style guitars I have are around 1 3/4."

FWIW, I bought a lefty SX black Custom back in 2016 which I believe was the one and only time they were available. In fact, I don't remember any lefty SX LPs being offered since. Like your std, it was unplayable out of the box and needed a fret level too as well as a new nut (it came with a right-handed one)...

the top is as nice as any agile it looks great! I already changed out the pickups in std for lace dirty heshers and the cus callisto already got lace dirty fingers installed today as well.
once the frets are fixed it will be about the same as the agile 2500-3100. one of my 3010 has more flaws than these callistos and im selling it to make up for the cost of the callistos

yes they def need a new nut like any sub 400 guitar usually. the sx callisto cus i bought in 2016 was a tad buzzy to but this one is great on frets. I use 50-52 gauge strings usually so there more apt to buzz than the stock strings, there buzing at 2,5 mm on the std lol.

That is tempting if I had a stable space for another budget LP I would probably grab the CUS.
Mainly because I prefer the 1 11/16" nut width

If I buy a guitar for $400, and it needs a nut and especially fret work. It's going back.i have never had these problems with, epi or agile or sx. Thank God
Well except for the sx strat body I bought and bought a $30 chinneseneck. But that was,nt sx problem. .matter of fact the guitar is beautiful, and I have bought everything to do a fret job. But have been too scared to do it. So it's looking good hanging on my wall over a year now

ive seen brand new 1000.00 - 1800.00 esp's and gibsons that needed fretwork and they would def go back. Every agile 2500 i bought needed some fretwork, they all were sold off, to heavy or to much work needed to make it nice nice. most guitar players i know have a bad fret, to much relief and a worn nut but claim there guitar is perfect and plays great, just like there line 6 amps there killer!

the cus is great on frets, they both need nuts for sure there nuts barely even cut enough to hold the factory strings. the sx furrians all had fantastic frets just to many factory flaws for me to justify the cheaper price.

Do you know how thick the neck is at the 1st fret? I like the wider nut as well, but I don't like wide and thin. Needs some girth!

I am about to do a full fret dress on my Jackson Dinky MIJ either today or tomorrow.
It is my 6th or 7th or so I think.

follow the tutorial over at TDPRI, search the recent ones here, watch some Youtube.
Get that neck flat take a few light strokes, adjust as needed then go for it!!

already upgraded pickups last night, wanted poker chip on cus gone but they must have put it on when the clearcoat was still soft theres a circle in finish so i has to stay on, it looks funny with those black pickups but the factory pickups are trash to me 20190329_133642.jpg 20190329_133916.jpg
