Anybody got one of these? Or any Furrian in this finish?

If so, could you kindly post a picture? I'd like to see what it looks like in 'real life'.

Currently, I'm torn between that and these:

I'd really like a Tele with P90s, but I need some convincing about the finish... If I get the natural Furrian, or the Xavier, I'll probably install a humbucker in the neck position with a Fender AmStd. Tele bridge pickup that I have laying around.

Thanks Skydawg, but I was mostly interested in seeing the sunburst finish, as the colors can look very different from Rondo pics.

But that that's a beautiful Furrian!

Yeah it is! And that's making it hard for me too... The Xavier has a flame top and binding, and I know they have a large rout under the PG, so I can put an HB in there. But I'd prefer a maple fretboard with that finish, so I'll have to swap out the neck. Guitar Fetish has been assuring me for about a year that they'll be getting more with maple fretboards in any day now, but I've given up hope.

And I don't know if I want to pay $210 for just the body and bridge.

I am the one who bough it off you. It was quite a bright red compared to the Al 3200. Very nice guitar for the price but needed a fret level. Had a bit of a hump in the middle of the neck. But the guitar I replaced it with had the same issue and it was 5 times the cost. The body was thinner than a standard tele.

I like thinner bodies... A thinner body means a lighter guitar.

My current Tele is 1/8" shy of Fender standard, and that small amount of wood makes a difference in weight. It's noticeably lighter than a comparable alder Tele.

Both of the Furrians I ordered last December are pretty hefty. Probably 8 lbs. I don't have any of those colors but the Furrian line or at least the 2 I received are stunningly good quality. I could'nt find a sharp fret or a finish flaw or any imperfection. I gave em a basic set-up and they were good to go. The BSB white pickguard got replaced with a black one from the Stratosphere and I replaced the white pickguard on my Vintage white Furrian with a better looking vintage white one. The BSB also got a Lil '59 in the bridge from ScreamingYellowZonkers and the neck pup was deleted. For 120 bucks they're amazing guitars.

I have no doubt about the quality of SX guitars. The Gypsy Rose I bought recently is at least on the same level of quality as a Squier Affinity... Absolutely perfect fret work. And the two SX basses I've bought were as good as any MIM Fender I've owned.

heres mine. a hell of a guitar. The only issue was the nut was a bit high. The pups are good but not very twangy but good tone. The grain is beautiful but not perfectly matched. B|ut well matched.

I was tempted by the cherry sb in a tele but I'm very glad I got the 2tsb. A classic finish.

Similar thread here but it didnt go very far

I own only two SX guitars. My Sx tele pickups were not very impressive. The neck pickup was extremely dark and muddy. My Sx Callisto Jr. with P90's on the other hand, were shockingly awesome for the price, and compare with P90's found in guitars costing 5x more.

I wish I got a Callisto when they were available, but I was an Agile snob back then. :)

That grain looks well matched enough for me. I've seen worse from Fender.

I have a love/hate relationship with 3TS. When it's done really well, it can be stunning, but all too often, they can be too dark and murky looking... SX does a good 3TS, though. The burst on your Furrian looks really nice! Reminds me of the Squier Tele Custom that I had some hard GAS for... Mostly because of the look (I don't care for the WRHB, personally).

I swapped out the pickguard, put new nut, electronics and Seymour Duncan pickups in and it is a real player. I love it.

This is my other SX Furrian. C.A.R. double bound, without contours. Replaced pickguard, nut and electronics and put Fender Original Vintage pickups in.

I loves me some CAR! A gold PG looks really nice on that color. That's what I have on my CAR P-bass.

My impression is Rondo opens a few boxes and takes pictures on the plainest one. Then used the plainest pictures of the plainest one.
GFS opens up 10 and takes pictures of the best looking one.
Rondo does that because he offers a no questions asked return policy. He has to.
I cant take a picture of the neck on my furrian. It got this great swirly marbled grain thats very pretty. I feel I've been very lucky with my purchases but looking at the 100s of pictures over the years the odds were with me.

I guess my tele is 3ts. Its so subtle I keep thinking of it as a 2 tone. I suppose the callisto is a 2tone. Whatever it is I like it. I agree about fender. The wood quality and look on these is something between a US model and a custom shop. You got me on WRHB. Whats that?
