My new SX Hawk is out of the box and checking out the new digs. It came with a gig bag but it has hardly no padding and it will be in my next Goodwill donation. When I opened the box to my surprise it was in tune except the 3rd (G) string, There are no flaws anywhere that I can find the fit and finish would be fine on a $750 guitar I'm very impressed.
It weighed in at 8.3 lbs with nylon strap and a Snark tuner attached and it is very playable straight out of the box. I may have just cot lucky but this guitar is great I had planed on swapping the neck off of the Squire but after playing this SX the neck on it feels great and it would not benefit the guitar in the least to swap out the neck. The string height is spot on at the 12th fret bass 1.75 treble 1.25 and the pups sound as good as the Destiny ones that are in the Iyv so no need to change them unless I buy upgrades for it and the radius at the bridge is dead on 12. The frets are in great shape however the edges could use the slightest amount of file work they're not really sharp but you can feel them a bit. The nut is cut really well and I will not replace it unless I have a problem. I have my Blue Strat and I want to thank @Acidhouse for pointing me in this guitar's direction it's every bit as great as that MIM Strat I had so many years ago. I'll be back I'm going to play thie thing for awhile.

Fine looking guitar! Made in the USA, huh??? (the flag:) It seems it has a number of small, but noticable touches that put it a step above most budget strats, like the contrasting knobs/pup covers, Grover-style tuner buttons, and nicer wood. Good to hear that the fit/finish is good and it is pretty much playable right out of the box.

I have the black one like that and a Candy Apple 2 P90 version, as well. Exceptional necks. Pickups...I didn't change them out, either. The only think I did on the black one was to put in a nice taper volume pot and change the pick guard to black.

I had really good luck with my Hawk I bought a few years ago too! A lot of guitar for the money. I learned how to cut a nut for that guitar. HNGD!!

I was JUST looking at the thread where you said you had ordered this guitar. What a Beauty! If I was in the market for another Strat style I would give these a hard look.

I really like that body color with the maple neck.

I hope to get one of their traditional Teles as well as a P90Tele. The only Tele I have presently is this IYV Thin line.

Good deal @redman. I remember when they sold those guys for about $110 and couldn't believe that they were selling full sized alder body Strats for almost half of what a Squier standard with basswood body was selling for. I still think they are a great deal at the current price. The neck swap should be fun but I think a lot of those SX necks.

    Thats nice looking.
I think SX is a great guitar company. Great options and low prices. My favorite LP copy is an SX.
and have their 1/2 and 3/4 size strats.
I have 3 of their dual P90 mahogany strats,
Still have 2 of their Liquid model,
one of their Taurus Tele and Thinline Tele models.

Methinks SX guitars have always been underrated. :)

    Here are my $99 SST-62, and $69 STL-50.

    SST3.jpg STL3.jpg

But the best money I ever spent on an SX was the $125 GG7 in my avatar. :)
    (The GG7 was a b-stock.)

Congrats! I am somewhat of an SX fanboy as I have at least one of almost every model they have made, The Alder series (like yours) are especially nice!
