A tribute to one of my favorite bands growing up...The Fabulous Thunderbirds! The Fab T's helped spark my interest in playing guitar...and the blues.

The backing track is here if you want to give it a spin...
(it's 12 bar blues in B the whole way through so you can solo over all 3 1/2 minutes if you like)

Feel free to post your creations with the track!

That was great! I've been looking to implement a setup like that for jamming at home. What are you using to play and control the backing track?

Thanks RiverDog! I use a MS Windows app called Live Looper (that I created). There are demos of it on youtube...search for LiveLooperApp...and it's available for download from the Microsoft App Store. I created the app because I couldn't find anything that did what I wanted which is show me exactly where I am within the song and allow me to extend solos or change song progression while the song is playing which is what I like and was missing about playing with live musicians. There are many other features but those two were the main reasons I created the app.

The computer I use is a MS Surface 4 tablet that I bought used for 400 bucks on ebay. And the bracket that holds it on the mic stand was like 25 bucks on amazon.

I create my backing track sound with a Digitech trio but any sound creation tool can be used... garage band, band in a box, etc.

I love playing with backing tracks. It makes practice a huge amount more fun and has helped me improve my timing and soloing.

That is awesome. I don't currently have anything that runs the MS app store. (I'm GASsing for a Surface, though!) Will you be releasing the app for Android or iOS?

It really depends on if I get a decent amount of interest/use on Windows or not. I primarily made the app so I could use it for my own live perfomances (but of course knew others might want to use it too) which is why I went with Windows because that's what equipment I have. I would only spend the time on Android and/or iOS if it looks like it would be worth the effort...waiting to see on that. In the mean time I'm having loads of fun with it on Windows.

Nicely done, great vocal performance too! You sure caught the Jimmy Vaughan vibe there.

Hey all...happy Friday! Just wanted to let everyone know that my backing tracks now have Lyrics! Below is a new link to the Fab T's track (now w/ lyrics) and another bonus track w/ lyrics from Jimmie's little brother (SRV). As always, feel free to post your work with the track.

That would definitely be disappointing...unless you are a REALLY good dancer!

@Chocol8 if he's with Archie Bell & the Drells , they dance just as good as they play. Especially when they Tighten Up
