After a 7 month wait the Jimmy Page Dragon telecaster has arrived.

    Crappy cell phone pic.

It is an interesting guitar. Out of the box the setup was good, but the action was too high for my liking. I lowered the action a bit to make it playable for me. The neck is super comfortable to play. The oval C profiles or whatever they're calling it is nice. The 7.25" fret board radius doesn't bother me at all. My primary guitar for years was a 72 thinline reissue with same radius.

The pickups are phenomenal. I'm not sure how to describe them. Not a typical tele sound. Higher output. Will clean up nicely but sound great with some overdrive and distortion without becoming shrill.

I've put 5-6 hours of playtime on it between last night and today and I'm quite happy with it. My only complaint is the nitro finish on the neck is still a little tacky. That should get better as the nitro cures, but if anyone has any suggestions on speeding up that process that won't damage the finish, I'm all ears.

I was pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of the red coil cable and white fender strap. Neither are listed as included accessories.

A couple photos sent to me by Sweetwater prior to shipping.

Beautiful. Now get a tonebender, a supro and practice all the yardbirds and early zep tunes.

Looks great but how did it take 7 months? Even as a special and or custom isnt it still a production model?
Do they have to wait till Jimmy wins available to fly him over to sign and test play each one?

    Doh! Oops! Fixed.

Pre-orders were opened after NAMM in January and expected shipping was listed as "summer 2019".

Nice. Nothing wrong with a Tele. We want to hear some Dazed and Confused.

It amazes me how they could capture the vocals without mics and the guitars without amps. Back THEN !

I think that mustache just makes his lip synching less detectable.

I picked up some Gibson guitar polish Sunday and I think the tacky neck problem is solved. After applying some polish to the back of the neck it is nice and slick.
