I was looking at the website pics and I do not see much difference between the Tiger eye finish and the Rootbeer finish. Any help?

    Thanks,

    Geoffrey

The look very similar in the Rondo pics but I can say this, IMO from the pics that have been posted here, the root beer models seem more consistent (color and flame wise) but when the tigers are done right they are pretty stunning. Check the galleries here or NGD posts.

A lot of us here have found that Kurts photos don't always reflect what the actual guitar looks like. My Douglas Shadow Gold did not look anything like the photo. Thankfully mine looks much better than the photos. Hopefully someone will provide a photo of the Tiger Eye. That root beer sure looks sweet.

Opps!! I have always thought that the Tiger Eye was more of a goldish/yellow colour. But whatever it is it sure is pretty. Looks like all the root beers I have seen. I now can see why the confusion between the two. :uh:

That's jcwillow's isn't it? He's got that looking fantastic - I'd love to make a BFG-type out of one like that (pic taken from MLP):

What Model Al 2000 or AL 3100?
They are very similar the Al 3100 Tiger eye and Rootbeer on the rondo site. The AL 2000 you can see the difference in the two..
I think the TE and Rootbeer finish are really sweet no matter what model ;)

I think the root beer is a flame, the TE was modded by dapamjan. I bought like that. I like it.
I may start modding some of the Al-2k's, depends how cold and long the winter gets.

Tsukiyomi: you may wanna look into some Michael kelly patriot guitars too. throw in a humbucker sized P90 in the neck pickup, and you'll have yourself a solid body version of the BFG....specs wise at least.

    here is their tiger eye:

Thanks Sol - I don't actually like the shape of those though. Plus, if I could get the kind of money together that the first one's going for, I'd go for a used Gibby BFG. The blue one in the pic above was originally red and the guy who refinished it got it for $850 with case a few months ago :)

    Did someone say Michael Kelly?

Hummmmm..... I have some of doze!
Pricey new but some nice deals on used ones. Really don't need the P-90 as most have coil cuts.
