Would that Harley Benton in the background be safer? :)

I dig Teles and I dig surf green, but at this point, if I wanted a Tele with a regular HB at the neck (which I kinda do), I'd just get the Squier CV '60s Custom and drop a humbucker in it (CVs are routed for a neck humbucker). But that's just me. Between CVs and building my own, I have very little desire to splash out money on actual Fenders anymore.

Sweet tone he's getting there! I had to stop listening to it though, for fear I would catch GAS.

That guy should spend $5 on some better studio lighting. The string shadows look horrible.

As for the Tele, if you want it, buy it. Tell your wife that letting you keep it will be far far cheaper than a divorce.

To you that have played / owned real Fender Tele and various copies, ie SX Furrians, etc.:
do you find the copies to be "tele-like" as much a real Fender?

Does it matter? There are plenty of great-s0unding guitars that aren't made out of wood.

I'm guessing the CV doesn't come in surf green in a lefty configuration.

I can say a Furrian definitely no. Maybe with an electronics swapbut out of the box no way. Even an Affinity Fender is no comparison. Only when you get to the CV line will you be near the ballpark. Having said that, they still look the same and being the cheapskate I am, will have to do. Sigh. Off to the Home Improvement store for more stuff for GF's new house... Sigh

@tonray Off topic, but have you tried (and reviewed here) your multi effects unit you bought recently? Interested to hear what you think about it...

    Thanks!

I haven't purchased an electric guitar as of yet. Have been spending too much outfitting my girlfriend's new house getting ready for October occupancy.. But you know... Enough of that! Review coming soon of both guitar and Zoom. Thanks for kick starting me!

Not all Fender Teles sound or feel the same, anyway, and if it doesn't sound enough like a Tele, you can always change the pickups. If a Tele feels good and sounds good, it is good (even if it says "Mosstone" on the headstock! :ROFLMAO: ). They're all Teles to me.

I sold off all my American-made guitars around ten years ago (sold almost all my guitars, actually) and I don't feel like my current guitar collection is wanting. If I came across a Fender Tele that I fell in love with, and the price was right, I'd probably buy it... but I'm not GASsing for one.
