I don't want to get anyone's hopes up as I've had this conversation with Kurt a couple years ago and it went nowhere. However, I again broached the subject in an email exchange with him about the two AL-3010SE Custom Selects I recently received and this time he actually responded.

There was a little confusion on his part as to the difference between the original AD-2200 and the AD-2300 and the recent AD-2200 Reissue (which is really an AD-2300 with an unbound neck, dot inlays and a wraparound bridge). He actually said he could do the AD-2300 for somewhere between $350-$375 which is a little higher than what the AD-2200 Reissue went for but I assume it would have the same specs as the original AD-2300 with a bound neck, block inlays and a TOM. However, although he was still referring to it as an AD-2200, he included a link to an old AD-2300 in his email as an example. In my original email, I had included a picture of the original AD-2200 but perhaps the angle of the shot didn't make the differences in the body styles as evident. This time I included the one below:

Whether he can even do the original AD-2200 and at what price remains to be determined. I'll let everyone know if this actually goes anywhere...

If anyone might possibly be interested, let me know as the more info I can give him as to possible demand, the better the chances of it actually getting done. I pointed out to him that other than some poor quality copies on Ali Express and now eBay, the only two double cutaway Special/Junior style guitars I currently see available are a Dillion Jr that Adirondack sells for around $525 and a brand called Fishbone that's listed on Reverb and has a Special for around $380 shipped...

If he can do it under $400 in anything but an over the top clownburst in a lefty after the first of the year I'd be very interested. Particularly if the p90's are alnico vs ceramic.

I'm pretty sure the two finish options will either be that dark cherry or the yellow finish on the AD-2200 Reissue that is called TVY. I have no idea about the magnets in the pickups, there's no reference to them on the product listing and I didn't have them in mine long enough to tell. There isn't anything much easier than a P90 magnet swap though:

One thing I don't understand is why the price would be approximately the same as a flame top AL-3010SE. It seems to me that one of these flat tops would cost significantly less to manufacture. It's not just Rondo's pricing, I've seen the same thing with other brands that do or did offer the same two styles...

either color works for me and yeah I know the magnets swap easy enough but but it would be nice not to have to be a necessary swap. Not to bitch and whine but does anyone keep the Agile p90s stock?

I suppose a few do but the general consensus is that the SX P90s are better than the ones in Agiles...

I'd rather have humbuckers or Sx P90's in it. If it had a spalted maple top, I'd buy one or two. :)

Is that new guitar i smell??? Already gas is rumbling.
Can't speak about Agile P90s, but the SX set in my Callisto Jr ain't going anywhere, they smoke thru a BDRI.

Kept the stock P90s in mine. Previous owner put Gibson Special-style pickguard on. Maybe this will help drum up some interest

Does anybody care if the neck is unbound or it has dot inlays? I think that's how both the original DC Juniors and Specials came...

I don't mind an unbound neck and like dot inlays. The dark cherry would be too close to my 2300, but I still don't have TVY in anything but the AD-201.

Too late for me but if I could, it would be exactly like pirate19, in either yellow or cherry, at under $275.
Too bad the BWG Santa Fe didnt come through like that -like it was supposed to.
but, I love that one too.

Dots and no binding particularly if it keeps the cost down. But whatever Kurt can get. If he goes with ceramic p90s I'd like the price closer to $300 or a hair under just because I'm cheap.

black on black would also be cool.

My favourite form factor. Just looks so right on the hip. Feels right, sounds right.

    Wa-fucking-hooo!!! I'm in!

Unbound neck is my preference (a bound neck on an otherwise unbound guitar always looks funny to me) and I'm fine with MOP dots or blocks, but not traps.

If he could do a real TVY, I'd be all over that, but not that neon canary nightmare.

How about natural mahogany (brown)? I'd do the cherry too, if that were the only option.
