I remember eBay had a bunch of these with finishes to die for. No idea what the rest of the guitar was like. And there were always gobs of B stocks.

I don't think this guy is still in business, but maybe someone out there knows for sure?

    Peace!

I was just looking at a large number of listings that looked like the Bad Cat guitars.

Weren't the Raven Wests from a member here?

No idea. I remember a guy who inherited the business after his father passed. This was a few years ago.

They're still around, there are a few currently on eBay and a few months ago a bunch of b-stocks were available. A blingier guitar, you will not find, I bought a used quilted Lizardburst LP a few months back. Very good build quality but the pickups and harness were the weak links. I've got either a set of GM Super 8s or Golden Age Parsons Streets for it if I ever make up my mind and find the time:

I remember their finishes looked way too gaudy.

Yeah they also did a ton of like super blingy overkill...green deep quilted veneer tops with abalone binding and abalone inlays and abalone everything but the kitchen sink.

I did like that one semi-hollow tele model they had with P90s and a neat vine fretboard inlay...but not enough to pull the trigger.

That's exactly what mine looks like. It's so over the top, it's hard not to laugh...

Bling on, brother. I don’t mind some blingy guitars myself, distracts folks from my
    playing

I know they are over the top, but so is a super model, and I wouldn't turn my nose up at one!

I have been trolling eBay, and assumed he shut down, as there are only a handful of guitars there. He used to have dozens up there. Fingers crossed I see more soon!

He had these Strat-style guitars with wooden pickguards I've always thought were HOT! Don't know how good they were in the hands, but they were pretty! He may have one on eBay, now, but the neck is twisted?

    Peace!

They used to have a real nice, woody neck thru telecaster that I always wanted, wish I snagged one back in the day. Then they started bringing them out and lost interest.

True story: When I saw VH in 2012, Kool and the Gang opened, and their guitar player was rocking a Raven West neck-thru RG lookalike.

I don't know what happened to them, but I thought they made great guitars -- really different, and killer finishes (the lizard green one being one of the best).

Before Raven West Guitars (RWG), they were Raven guitars... and I have one! It's a semi hollow with a great slim straight neck and although I'm sure it's rosewood, I'd almost swear it was ebony, pretty flat fretboard (14 I think) has some nice MOP traps. Here is my RP450, it's just like a PRS McCarty hollowbody, got A5's in her, recently switched out the tuners for locking. These are really hard to find, there are some that fade from purple to blue (not my thing) but amazingly I found a purple to black fade.

They even had a Firebird copy... the RM2500.

Not bad looking. The laminated lines in the body kind of give you the impression it's a thru neck. Those control knobs are all wonky. The shape of the body is close enough for rock & roll.

I like the completely random pics throughout the site.

    ...and the Raven West girls.

*edit-I'm seeing those CNC Destiny Wound pickups on a lot of imports lately. They're spec'd on some of those Wolf Guitars.
