"Now the scary part, of my limited testing, these are very consistent, high gain, medium leakage, well within original spec. "

    That is a great find.

@mozz You are a busy man!
Do you bake your spray painted enclosures?
    Mine chip / scratch easily.
I have an old toaster oven, I want to try it.
I have a couple I just few had time to take apart for do -over, and I still have to make up the footswitch for the 6G2 I built toward the end of last year. And the cab, lol.

Currently working on a 2011 Epiphone Casino Bigsby VS and a pedal. The Casino was a trade for some repairs and pickups. It is rougher than I remembered it, but great in the right places. I am doing it like a '62 ES-330 and will get picks up this weekend. The Pedal is a Marshall Bluesbreaker / Morning Glory derivative.

That's awesome^... I'd be inclined to send the pedal with a knob made out the head of one of these

But mail the actual knob separately

Actually i hate spray painting. 2 of them are metallic paint, they seemed to dry faster. I'm usually impatient and a hour after painting i want to build the pedal, so the case get scratched. Well, i just checked these after 2 weeks and i can scratch the paint on all of them with my fingernail, so maybe the toaster oven might work.

I never looked into powder coating (harbor freight stuff) but will have to read up on it and see how many you can paint with 1 container of powder. I do have a hvlp gun for liquid paint but i think the hassle of cleaning the gun and all that would be a pain. I only do 3,4, or 5 pedals at a time, sometimes just 1.

Mammoth and tayda have super decent prices on powder coated enclosures. Pedalpartsplus has more options but too expensive for me.

Yeah, Mammoth i have bought from before, 1590BB i think? Will have to check prices and shipping, sometimes that's the killer. One of those places i bought a bunch of pots and jacks, the tolerances on the threads were terribly sloppy. Just ordered some more jacks from Ali to try out, anything besides a genuine switchcraft 11 i have found to be junk, radio shack does have some on sale sometimes that are better and closest i have found to switchcraft quality.

Ali express has painted cases, limited colors, but i think i can get regular painted pedals cases for about $5 each.

Going to put the Lab series L5 preamp pedal on Reverb i think. They sell for about $300. My Paypal account for parts and eBay junk never seems to have any money in it.

I found an interesting Coldheat soldering tool at Goodwill for $3. Haven't tried it yet though.

As promised, the AMI Essentials Drive (Marshal BB / Prince of Tone / Morning Glory clone). I really like it in my Vibroverb, so it is going on a pedalboard I am building for that. The LED lights when the effect is engaged, green for low gain and red for high.

I think anyone would like to see that on their pedal board. Do you tuck it under your pillow at night? I would!

BWG Santa Fe gets some upgrades. Love this guitar but never quite happy with the tones (but am I ever?)
Dull power chords, lacking the BITE.

I have not been happy with my P90 tones in general; lack mids bite and snarl.
    Think Mississipi Queen.
I think part is I usually cant crank my amps into PI and power tube OD, and I'm no player either.

I had a set of LP type 2 vol 2 tone controls from the Ubuyguitars stock a couple of years ago. CTS 500k pots, orange drop caps .047mf I think. Dunno if the pots are A or B. Made a difference in the clarity; it always seemed a little muffled / wet blanket.
I did try them with the stock neck and the SX bridge from my Liquid before the pickup change.

member @mozz invited me to be a guinea pig for his first go at winding P90.

    20190615_201444.jpg

check out the quality wire he uses - the white- compared to the Chicom stock units:

    20190615_204659.jpg

I only got about 15 minutes on them tonight.
    First impressions are extremely positive.

Much more clarity, articulate than the stock units, and better IMO than the SX P90s in my Liquid which are pretty darn good.
I wont say they are as good as the 1 Gibson I put in the bridge of the Liquid yet, but they are snarly and bitey with gain.
The brief time I spent on some clean barre chords sounded good too, but thats not my priority here.

One thing he asked me to do was try them where he set the pole screws, which are higher than I had mine.
Made a good guitar even better, it is a good day.
    Thanks @mozz !!

If that is your wife, you are one lucky summadabich!

I have been using hat pinup for a while - it is a very early Vargas. I think it is his rendition of Eve tempting Adam, which to me feels artistically musical for some reason.

This is one of several that have been in their cases for a few years. It's time to finish this one.

Seeing how productive everyone but me seems to be, I'm thinking of starting a fresh thread titled " What's Should Be On Your Work Bench Today?"
