What ever she decides on, set it up for her. My neigbor got his kid a bass last year for Christmas and it had 3/4" action. His daughter barely touched it. I set it up and she didn't put it down for months.

I provided a couple of these options to the woman I'm helping but she now says her mom found the kid a used guitar somewhere. I didn't ask for details but when she stops by for the amp, etc. I'll offer to set it up if she wants.

Thanks again for all the great advice. You guys rock!

Free used one as long as it can be setup is the way, then if the kids take to it save for a better one.

Hope it has good bones if you need pots or switches or anything I have a ton of used but good parts just let me know what you need and if I have it I'll get it off to you don't mind chipping in for s kid at Christmas and KUDOS to you my friend for doing this for the kid.
I have 2 granddaughters I'm going to start giving lessons to after the first of the year so I order both a Mel Bey Grade 1 book and a children's method 1 I said I wasn't going to do this again. But if you can give someone the gift of music it is a present for life.

    Will do, thanks TJ!

Interestingly, my granddaughter is showing signs that she may be a lefty. I say this because she's only 10 1/2 months old and I'm already itching to pick her up a Squier Mini or something similar, even though it's WAY too early. Realizing that she may be a southpaw has me already mulling over the options for her. I may enter the lefty guitar world yet.

Good choice of the blue Indio, I have a Blue Indo Classic strat, It needed a set up and the weakest part are the tuners could be better, But for 100$ it is a good buy.

I just saw on FB a post with a Glarry tele ($85 new). It had the Fender headstock too. Poster said it had a nice chunky neck.

I had that Oscar Schmidt GT. It wasnt as good as the OE30.
