Picked this up in a trade this weekend. I had wanted one when they first came out, but they were hard to find, and the ones I found weren't swirly enough...

Man I know that "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's guitar" but I have a particular weakness for green. HNGD, glad you got it.

I don't even like green guitars and I had a particular weakness for this one. I think the maple board really swayed me over to the green side.

If all things go peachy tomorrow I may have a Burny Ace Frehley to post as well. It's been a long time since I did a dual NGD in a week.

I've played one of these. It was a great guitar but it was the heaviest strat I ever played. How's the weight on that one?

Definitely a little on the heavy side. I'll see if I can figure out where my wife put the luggage scale and weigh it.

Have him learn right. My kid is lefty and got great on jazz drums. He said it would have been a nightmare 100s of times over changing setups. Including in jazz band where they sometimes swapped drummer every song. He would have had to relearn or just quit.

That would be weird with an amp anyway. Congrats! That sounds like a winner!

just ordered set of Takstar Pro82 headphones from China, through Ebay. $62 with free shipping.

They get consistently great reviews, so I'm really hoping I like them and they last more than a damn year.

Found an '87 Strat Plus yesterday. It's their first year of issue. Quite honestly I was considering flipping it, but I'm no longer certain. I like the newer (post '93) versions of these guitars better, but the '87 is kind of unique because of the version of the tuners, nut, and Lace Sensor pickups they used. I'll at least document it properly before putting it on Reverb. I heard a lot of these early 87 versions were made by John Page, which might mean taking off the neck to see if his stamp is there.

I think for the right buyer I might be able to get a premium. I'd really like to get a hold of a good example of a plus deluxe of ultra, so maybe I'll see if I can grab one of those in trade from one of the few other dorks who loves these models.

That sounds like a pretty major shortcoming that belongs in the cons list.

I have to ask what you think of the pickups. I am tempted by the Hexbuckers on occasion.
