A couple days ago I posted that I had picked up a used Yamaha THR10 practice amp from GCs online used site. I really tried to like it, but I just couldn't coax any usable tones out of it, so today I took it back to GC and traded it for this used Bugera V5. Now THAT'S what a practice amp should sound like! I was hoping I could squeeze a 10" speaker in there, but that will take some clever engineering I'm afraid. I like the 5w/1w/0.1w attenuator... reverb sounds good... real tube sound... what's not to like? Edit…. Well, after spending some time with the V5, it suddenly struck me.... I COULD HAVE HAD A V8!!! Seriously though, this one's going back too. It's really a pretty decent little amp, but I already have three small amps... a Super Champ X2, a Boss Katana 50, and a hand-built 5E3. All of them sound WAY better than the Bugera, so why keep it?
