Rondo sells guitars in many styles. They also sell guitar cases, amps, and all kinds of parts (including pickups, necks, and hardware).

So why doesn't Rondo sell effects pedals?

I can see a market for the "Tuckel Treble Boost." Or how about the "Pookie Pitch Shifter"? "Claremont Chorus" anyone? Would you like a squeeze from the "Kurt Kompressor"? And who here wouldn't want a cheap Asian made "Zentmaier Overdrive" on their board?

Cheap made in China effects pedals are in something like a golden age at the moment. Seems it would be a relatively easy thing for Rondo to brand some pedals and add them to the product line.

    Just a thought.

Good question, I'll mention this to Kurt the next time I have to email him about the ongoing symmetrical double cutaway AD and AL projects...

I'ts an idea, but it seems to me the cheap chinese pedal market is already saturated. Kurt would have to find a way to make his stand out.

You know, we spend a lot of time around here speculating on what Kurt should do next or what Kurt should do differently.

It all pretty much boils down to "why can't he get more of the stuff we like and quit stocking the crap we don't?"

    Well, why doesn't he???????

PS - I'm still a fan and every transaction I've had with Kurt has been a very good one.

They sold pedal boards before, if I recall correctly.

The market for cheap Chinese pedals is already saturated and Kurt has no competitive advantage.

Rondo has the distinct advantage of an already existing customer base who already buys cheap pedals. Many of them would probably purchase from Rondo rather than eBay instantly.

Only if they were the same price or cheaper, and his following isn’t big enough to support any R&D besides the simplest rebranding (different graphics maybe but physically identical).

I agree, but Joyo, Biyang, etc. also have those things plus the advantage of being known as pedal manufacturers/vendors. That said, it wouldn't totally surprise me to see Rondo start selling pedals, particularly if they were cheap enough to be an impulse purchase.

I'm not much of a pedal guy have a few and am happy with them.I did what I think a lot of guys do saw reviews of pedal decided what I liked and bought on price and service where it mattered. Kurt would have only entered the equation if he had it at a better price.Honestly the only 'pricey ' pedal I have is the original HOF reverb from when Sweetwater had it marked down to $100. Every thing else is in the 30 to 45 dollar range. But then I'm not the kind to keep chasing tone with pedals, just not my thing.

    Why doesn't Kurt sell pedals?
Because he has a hard on for shitty 7, 8, and 9 string, pointy, "METAL!!' guitars.

So, you're saying it's a great opportunity for Rondo?

If I have the option to purchase the exact same pedal under a Joyo brand or an Agile brand at the same price, I'll take the Agile. If I have the option to purchase a Joyo brand on eBay or a Joyo brand from Rondo at the same price, I'll take the Rondo.

Cheap enough to be impulse purchase is exactly where Rondo's niche lies. Or used to.

I would not trust Rondo for an amp.

    But hey people trusted Monoprice.

Kurt could sell rebranded Monoprice amps.
