Looking mainly for amber, but will consider others.

    I have blues, I think.

Edit: looks like people have them on Reverb for less than I'd want to sell them for.

I stupidly got rid of most of mine, before I realized how useful they are for testing preamp issues. That, and they look really cool.

    How do you use them?
I found the blue worked really well in the AC4 I had by bringing the gain of the amp down considerably and reducing the volume, but in another amp it caused an odd buzzing sound.

I’m having issues with two of my amps blowing preamp valves. Just using the Retrovalves to check each position to see if there’s a problem like shorting out, or something.

I got three of some kind that you can have, I'll have to check what they are when I get home.

Forgot to check last night, probably due to tequila.

    I'll check today after work.

Can you describe that more? Blowing preamp valves? Few ways that may happen but not common. Over voltage. Leaking cathode cap causing over dissapation. Open grid resistor would cause runaway. The retro valve may even work fine in all those cases, you need a meter, sometimes you can troubleshoot with the tube out of the socket.

I'm just caveman-ing it out, since I do not know that much about that stuff, and don't have the tools. Just plugging them in to see if that preamp position works.
