Hey owned a reissue Mod6 for many years. In fact it's the guitar I credit with getting me back to playing regularly after a terrible experience with a Squier piece if junk. Oh man those lipsticks...

I have this model Grote. It has become my favorite guitar. Mine came with a bridge p90 in the neck, but sounds ok. I will probably buy a natural model and put in a humbucker. It is like the Epiphone Century, just $450 cheaper.

Unless particleboard is a gas or a liquid, it also qualifies as solid wood!

I think it is more like many of us never heard of Grote guitars prior to this thread. :)

I saw that about a month ago, and almost ordered one. Looks like the perfect instrument for one of the jams I attend. At the time there were no reviews on Amazon so I thought I would wait and see what sort of reports show up. Dasky, tell us more!

The Grote Jazz guitar is a full hollow body plywood box with a p90 neck pickup. My guitar came with a bridge pickup in the neck but still sounds ok. This would be the only thing that I would upgrade on the Grote. I may install a humbucker by enlarging the pickup opening to fit.It has a 16.5 inch lower bout, thin line and is a joy to play. Mine came from China in 10 days, from Amazon. There are 8 reviews there, all favorable. I have a Firefly 338 that is stock and I gig with it. The Grote is as good as the Firefly but I like the old time looks and lightness over the Firefly. The Grote Jazz guitar is a deal as it is a copy of the Epiphany Century that cost 4 times more. If you want one of these get it now. Grote guitars increase their prices with demand. They have a 7 string semi hollow jazz model with locking tuners for $199. Now it is $249. This guitar also has excellent reviews. I got my Grote hollow body for $140 and now they are $170. I have the sunburst model, but I should buy the natural one, too.
